About thirty-two Nigerian Universities are currently in various stages of research for COVID-19 Vaccine.
The Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, Dr. Sulaiman Ramon-Yusuf stated this in Abuja at the launch of a compendium on the contributions made by some Nigerian Universities to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 in the country.
Dr. Ramon-Yusuf said just as the Federal Government was in dire need for COVID-19 solution, research institutions under the ministry of education were on their toes to also come-up with a possible cure for the coronavirus.
Dr Sulaiman who noted that the compendium was a list of some of the interventions by the Nigerian Universities, highlighted some of them to include fabrication of ventilators and the institution of research on SARS COV-2.
He stressed that the criteria used to compile the list of the Universities in the compendium was a verifiable one devoid of bias or sentiments.
