Nigeria: 3 Suspected Drug Addicts Drown In Njuwa Lake In Adamawa

Three suspected drug addicts in wuro chekke of Adamawa State drown into Njuwa Lake while their bodies are being searched as the time of filling this report.

An eyewitness, Mr Saad says the incident happen in the morning when a team of policemen arrived at the popular drug joint in the area.

On sighting the police the drug addicts ran from the smoking joint to the lake and dived in obviously to avoid arrest.

Though one of the suspects who was arrested by the police was later granted bail.

Saad said when contacted the Spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said he is yet to receive the report but promised to investigate the incident.

In a related development two people of the same family on Wednesday died at Lake Njuwa in Yola town when a canoe conveying them from their farm in Rugange in Yola South local government area capsized.

It was learned that a lady who was in the capsized canoe was saved from drowning.
