The National Human Rights Commission has held a two-day workshop on implementation of Human Rights Education in school system in the country.
The theme of the workshop, sponsored by the Danish Institute for Human Rights is Implementation of Human Rights Education in the school system in Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Tony Ojukwu in his opening address said the event was a testimony of their collective and continued commitment to entrench respect for human rights and dignity in schools in Nigeria.
Ojukwu, represented by Aver Gaver, Director Human Rights Education, said the commission was resolved to build a country strong enough to ensure quality education.
He commended the sponsors, Danish Institute for Human Rights in Denmark, for their support.
Ojukwu said the workshop would definitely aid the smooth implementation of Human Rights Education in the School System in Nigeria.
