NEMA Distributes Relief Items To IDP’s

National Emergency Management Agency NEMA has commenced the distribution of relief items to thirty-six thousand households and Internally Displaced Persons IDP in Maiduguri and other liberated communities.
In a statement made available to Radio Nigeria, Principal Information Officer of NEMA North East, Abdulkadir Ibrahim said the food items were part of the palliative measures put in place by the federal government to cushion the impact of COVID-19.
According to the statement, the two months food ration would be distributed to all IDP camps in Maiduguri and displaced persons in Jakana, Mainok and Beneshiekh in Konduga and Kaga local government areas of the state.
Mr. Ibrahim added that more palliatives are underway to the state from the federal government food strategic reserve.
Borno state has over one point five million displaced persons housed in twenty-three official camps and host communities.
