The North East Development Commission distributed relief materials to Customs House Internal Displaced Persons camp which suffered fire outbreak in Maiduguri state capital of Borno State.
The relief materials which include foodstuff, cooking utensils, clothing and blankets were handed over to 4000 affected persons.
Addressing the beneficiaries at the IDPS camp, Managing Director of North East Development Commission, Mohammed Alkali, disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is deeply concerned about the plight of the Internal Displaced Persons and ordered immediate action to provide succor to the affected persons.

The North East Development Commission added that each household will get two bags of rice, two pieces of blanket, two pieces of the mat, two wrappers, and two packets of macaroni, a 5-litre cooking oil, and pieces of clothing.
The Executive Director of Humanitarian services North East Development Commission, Musa Yashi, said North East Development Commission now provides immediate humanitarian service, which was not the commission’s earlier projection.
The beneficiaries commended the North East Development Commission for their timely intervention saying the gesture will go along to alleviating their hardship.
