Minister of Women Affairs Vows to Collaborate with Partners West African to FIGHT SGBV IN NORTHEAST NIGERIA

The minister of Women affairs MrsPaulinTallen said that federal government has put more effort in addressing incidents of sexual violence, abuses in schools, discrimination, human trafficking and cultural practices that infringe women’s rights.

The Minister who was represented by the Director Women Affairs at the sensitization programme in Maiduguri said the ministry is ever ready to support programs geared toward Gender based violence in northeast and Nigeria at large.

The Nigerian chief of Defense staff General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakinsaid that the military is doing everything possible to protect Territorial integrity of Nigeria as a sovereign nation.

Adding that military is also providing security to the paramilitary personnel and civilian populations in conflict prone zones of the country by establishing various theaters of operation to ensure lives and property of citizens are safeguarded to the international best practices.  

General Abayomi was represented by the acting Director Information Defense Headquarters Brigadier General OnyimaNwachukwu at the one day sensitization programme for security agencies in Borno and Yobe states.

Speaking to Dandal Kura Radio correspondent the Executive director Partners West Africa Nigeria KemiKeyidu reveals that the organization has a three years strategic plan to protect women and girls against Social Gender base violence and they will continue to engage in Monguno, Biu and Maiduguri in Borno state.
