Labour Commends Governor Zulum Over Clearing Gratuity Of Retirees

Organized labour, in Borno state commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for clearing the backlog of the gratuity of retirees both dead and living from 2013 to 2017 numbering 4,862 beneficiaries.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed and made available to Dandal Kura Radio International in Maiduguri by the chairmen of Nigerian Labour Congress Bulama Abiso and his counterpart of Trade Union Babayo M. Hamma.

The statement further expresses the sincere appreciations on behalf of the entire retirees in the state for taking such a wonderful step towards clearing their backlogs. Adding that the gesture was historic, remarkable, unforgettable and a qualities good leadership that puts smile on the faces of retirees.

The Organised Labour equally appreciates the immense contribution and commitment towards building the state, enhancement of societal divested North-East region, this is indeed an inspiration to present and future generations.

Stressing that they will continue partner with Borno state government towards achieving 10 pact agenda of the administration of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.

Bulama Abiso said they’re working assiduously to ensure that salaries of all new and old staff are immediately paid after their biometric data captured which would be completed in the near future and appeals for the affected staff to exercised patient.

Dandal Kura Radio International reports Borno state Government has released sum of 12 billion Naira for settling the huge backlog.

The labour Union prayed that Almighty Allah continue to guide and protect, with good health and give him more wisdom to steer the affairs of state and the region at large.
