The source said the terrorists came with several trucks mounted with Anti-Aircraft guns and motorcycles. The combined efforts of the policemen, soldiers, operatives of civil defence, and intelligence services as CJTF swiftly engaged and repelled the terrorists’ attack.

The attack is coming nearly a week after Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno abruptly cut short his visit to the town following an attack on his convoy by ISWAP terrorists in the same axis.

However, despite the growing insecurity and presence of the terrorists in the area, Governor Zulum has insisted that all the IDPs and refugees must be resettled by December 31, 2021.
