Terrorists belonging to The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have engaged in a heavy gun duel with troops at a military base in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
Sources said the ISWAP terrorists were sighted in a long convoy of about 16 gun trucks along Ngulde axis towards Askira, on Saturday morning.
Immediately the attackers stormed Askira, they headed to the military base”.
The source said.Meanwhile, in a swift response, the gallant military troops engaged the terrorists in gun battle prompting the residents to flee for safety.
The causality figures could not be ascertained as of the time of this report.
