ISWAP Attacks Military Base Along Gubio Road

The ISWAP terrorists have launched a day time attack targeting a military base at the precinct of Maiduguri Borno State Northeast Nigeria, while the Nigerian President is preparing to visit.

Nigerian troops on Sunday responded to an attack close to Maiduguri city, Borno State capital, neutralized seven ISWAP terrorist and intercepted three gun truck.

The attack is preceding the arrival of Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, in the capital city.

Dandal Kura Radio understands that insurgents launched the attack targeting a military base along Gubio road in Maiduguri.

The base is estimated to be a few kilometres from Maimalari Barrack and the headquarters of the countrys counterterrorism-counterinsurgency operation known as operation Hadin Kai.

Maiduguri is encircled by trenches and military outposts designed to protect it from infiltration and attacks.

The military usually despatches artillery alongside the ground and air reinforcement in response to attacks targeting Maiduguri.
