INEC :voter card has no expiry date

The independent national electoral commission (INEC) has assured the general public a hitch free, highly transparent general election in ADAMAWA state.
The resident electoral commissioner ADAMAWA state, kassim G. Gaidam made this known at a stake holders meeting on the ongoing voter registration exercise and other activities in Yola.
Kassim Gaidam said, the ongoing exercise caters for new voter registration, review of information, transfer of registered voters from one polling unit to another, update of information, collection of permanent voters card and replacement of lost or damaged voters card.
He further explained that, the foundation for any credible election rest on the credibility of the register of voters.
Gaidam said, the commission has printed and delivered to the state Thirty nine thousands, seven hundred and seventy (39,770) permanent voters card of genuine new registrant, and successful distributed to the entire local government areas I the state.
The resident electoral commissioner also assured the general public that, permanent voters card have no expiry dates.
The ADAMAWA state police commissioner Sikiru Akande, urged the entire stake holders to coorporate with the ongoing voters registration exercise aimed at ensuring all the eligible person have been registered.
He further assured the general public , a total security of lives and properties during the period.
E committee urged political parties, the media, civil society organization and the public to kindly assist in educating the residents about the problem of invalid registration.
