IMWON Distributes Food items to Widows and Orphans in Adamawa

A non-governmental organization, Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria IMWON, Adamawa state branch has distributed rice and sugar to widows and orphans in Jimeta and Yola on Sunday to cushion the effect of the lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the distribution, the Amirah of the organization in the state Hajiya Asmau Aliyu who expressed gratitude to Allah thanked the Federal government for the gesture through the Directorate of Security Service.
She maintained that the items will go a long way in alleviating the hardship faced by widows and orphans who were more affected by the lockdown, calling on wealthy individuals to assist those in need, stressing that caring for the needy will bring to an end any calamity on the land like coronavirus pandemic.
The Amirah added that assistance to the needy should be channeled to trusted persons so that it can reach the target beneficiaries she explained that any person who cares for the needy will be rewarded in many folds by Allah.
Also commenting, the NortheastPresident of Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria MCAN Mallam Musilim Abubakar expressed satisfaction with the distribution and explained that the gesture was from the Federal government and facilitated by the Association through the state office of the Directorate of Security service.
He said twenty five bags of rice and two bags of sugar were given to IMWON and the distribution was effectively done based on the guide lines of the distribution with beneficiaries cutting across males and females.
In her remark, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed Umar, a member of IMWON described the distribution as fairly done considering the target beneficiaries
