The chairman House of Representatives committee on Army, Abdulrakaz Namdas has commiserated with the people of Garkida over the recent Christmas Eve attack on the community by Boko Haram fighters.
Boko Haram fighters have on the eve of Christmas launched an audacious attack on the sleepy town killing six residents and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
Namdas who is representing Ganye, Jada, Toungo and Mayo-Belwa federal constituency regretted the attack while calling on citizens to be more vigilante and security conscious.
The lawmaker said he had spoken with the brigade commander, 23 Armoured Brigade Yola and got assurances that more troops will be deployed to the area to ensure security of lives and properties.
On the 26th of December, just two days after the attack, residents of Garkida again scampered into the surrounding bushes after sighting about nine trucks of Boko Haram fighters heading to their community.
