Governor of yobe state, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has slashed the cost of 2,350 housing units constructed by his administration through the Family Home Funds by 50 percent to enable civil servants earns home of their own.
The Yobe State Housing and Property Development Corporation had, in a schedule of payment of the 2,350 affordable houses said those benefiting with 3 Bedrooms Urban were to pay 5,675,540.00. 2 Bedrooms Urban 4,300,050,79. 2 Bedrooms Rural 3,000,050.84 payable within 15 years.
Governor Buni who announced the discount during a budget presentation before the Yobe State House of Assembly said the project was part of his administration’s commitment to providing decent and affordable accommodation to the citizens.
He said,“It is indeed the largest housing intervention in the history of the State which is intended to provide decent accommodation and to address housing deficiency in the State.
He also said “The houses have already been allocated to our people on an owner occupier basis.
He added that this is in line with the policy of his administration to make life meaningful for people.
