Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has warned 316 students from the state studying at Glocal University, India, against cultism and other forms of misconduct.

Press Secretary to the Governor, Hussain Mai-Sule, stated in Damaturu, yesterday, that that the sponsored students were drawn from the 17 local councils to study medicine, pharmacy, engineering, as well as paramedic sciences.

Buni was represented by his Deputy, Idi Gubana, in India, to interact with the students and the school’s management as well as assess the student’s progress in the institution.

Students, be guided by ethical values, good conduct and moral behaviour,” he said, adding that this will ensure compliance with acceptable norms of India.

Gubana, during the visit, met the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Syed Ahmed, and exchanged ideas with him on performances and proper mentoring of the students.

According to him, foreign sponsorship of students was to raise the “standards of education” and address the dearth of manpower in the civil service.
