Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe wants outgoing National Youth Service Corps members to use the experience gathered during their service year especially the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship training to became self employed and create opportunities for others.
Governor, Mai Mala Buni gave the charge in a message to the passing out ceremony for the 2021 Batch A, Stream One corps members deployed to Yobe State.
The Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni represented by the Commissioner Youth, Sports, Social and Community development Goni Bukar Lawan said by putting into practice the skills and experiences learned during the one year national service would also complement government effort in reducing unemployment in the country.
Governor Buni further reiterated government resolve to address security challenges and corruption with a view to create conducive atmosphere for economic growth and rapid development of the state and the country at large.
He also promised continued support to the NYSC to enable the scheme achieve its mandate.
Similarly, the Yobe State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Hafsat Yarima said the out going corp members impacted positively on their host communities through various community development projects such as construction work, health extension, advocacy, enlightenment and other social services.
Hajiya Hafsat Yarima while commending Yobe state government for its support and assistance to the scheme, also requested the out going corp members to be good ambassador of Yobe state and the NYSC scheme.
Some of the Corp members Interviewed by Radio Dandal kura expressed their gratitude to God for a successful year.
Two of the corp members have been selected for the Distinguished Service Year award and one other has his service year extended by on month while another one has been declared absconded and will be relating the service year.
