Gombe Commissioner Of Police Solicits Media Cooperation in Tackling Insecurity

The Nigeria police force, Gombe state command has solicited for the support and cooperation of media in tackling insecurity in the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim made the call during a reception ceremony for Gombe Media Houses held at the command headquarters in Gombe.

He explained that the police force, other security agencies, and the media are partners in progress in ensuring a better security situation in the country.

Speaking earlier at the reception ceremony National vice president of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi advised journalists to use ethical guidance and professionalism while reporting, he also urged them to seek clarification on any information before publishing.

In his remarks, the Chairman, of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Gombe state council, Comrade Saidu Bappah Malala, informed the police commissioner that the Council is doing its best to ensure sanity among the members.

He however appealed to the command to collaborate with journalists to enable them perform their duties without any hitch.
