The General Manager Borno state Urban Planning and Development Board Town Planner (TPL) Kaka Malam Umar has with full force embarked on continuous sensitisation of members of public against indiscriminate erection of political parties’ flag and campaign posters as well removal of unauthorised mounting of billboard, signpost, at strategic locations and highways within the city centre of Maiduguri.
He stated this while flagging off the exercise along Muhammad Indimi Road yesterday Wednesday where he urged public to strictly respect and adhered to the laws and order.
Stressing that the exercise has come to stay and the Board will not hesitate to prosecute violators of the laws regarding mounting of illegal bill boards and signposts within the metropolis.
From Muhammad Indimi Road, the team proceeded to some selected areas which comprises of Shehuri North, Dandal Way ,Gomboru , limanti ward and Kukawa road among others.
The general Manager has said that efforts to avoid exploitation and deformation of government and private structures as well as to ensure peaceful coexistence among political parties.
