Federal government technical team for the preparation of livestock productivity resilience support L- pres and Yobe state government organized a 2days interaction meeting for improved livestock production in the state.
The two days meeting took place at the state ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Damaturu.
In her welcome address, the commissioner of the ministry Dr Mairo Ahmed Amshi assured the readiness of the state government to give maximum support and cooperation to the federal government technical team for the preparation of L-pres.
The commissioner said Yobe is an agrarian state for both livestock and food production adding that the introduction of L- pres is a most welcome development towards improving food security in the state and the country in general.
Earlier speaking the federal government L- pres team leader Mr Samuel Alabi said they were in Yobe for a 2 days interection on the technical preparation on livestock productivity Resilience support L-pres.
According to him Yobe is an agrarian state that contributed greatly to the National food basket of the nation.
MR Alabi said the project has five components to achieve its aims and objectives among others which include state of institution of the livestock, crisis management between farmers and cattle breeders and contingency he added.
In his contribution during the meeting the permanent secretary ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources Alh Musa Abba Kolere commended the purposeful leadership of Governor Buni for transforming the state.
