Minister of Defence Bashir Salihu Magashi retired alongside with chief of defence staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor and other security chiefs arrived Maiduguri.

The reason for their visit is not yet disclosed, however our correspondent surmises that it could not be unconnected with the incidents in Damasak, headquarters of Mobbar, over the course of the last one week.

The minister’s was received by Maj. Gen. Faruk Yahaya, the theatre commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, senior officers, commanders, co commanders and other top military commanders at Maiduguri Air Task Force base.

The Damasak incident has been lingering in the news throughout the week, with many newspapers erroneously reporting that the town has fallen to Boko Haram control enclave which the Nigeria army has debunked in series of press releases.

Dandal Kura Radio reveals that, despite the destruction of houses and public buildings, troops are in control.

The minister of defence and service chiefs visited the Borno state governor Prof .Babagana Umara Zulum at the Governent House.

Details will be presented in our subsequent bulletins.
