Damaturu Ultra-Modern Market To Be Completed In Three Weeks Says Project Manager

The contractor handling the construction of the Damaturu ultra-modern market has promised to complete and handed over the project to the Yobe government in the next three weeks.

Mr Bala Adamu Goni, Project Engineer of Euro Afric Energy, the company handling the project confirmed this in an interview with Neptune Prime correspondent in Damaturu on Friday.

It could be recalled that the contract for the project was awarded at N2.8 billion in October 2019, with a completion period of 12 months.

The project includes; construction of over 800 shops, abattoir, administrative building, fencing, exit gates and gatehouses, conveniences and vehicles’ parking space.

Others are concrete pavements, mosques, roads and drainages, electrification equipment, water supply, fire service and police outposts.

Goni said the project had already reached 85 per cent completion level.

He also said the original handing over date was in December 2020 but it did not happen due to certain challenges.

The engineer commended the state government for its maximum support and cooperation in executing the project.
