COVID-19: Kano Commences mass Vaccination Exercise, Targets 3.4 Million

Kano State Government has commenced COVID-19 mass vaccination exercise across the state with maximum target of 3.4 million residents.

Already, the State Primary Health Care Management Agency declared that over one million Kano residents received complete dose of the vaccines since the commencement of the vaccination in Kano.

Executive secretary of the Agency, Dr. Tijjani Husseini disclosed the development during a training workshop organized for media professionals on awareness campaign on the mass vaccination.

Dr. Tijjani represented by Director, Disease Control and Epidemiology, Dr. Imam Wada Bello debunked allegation of outright rejection of COVID-19 vaccines in Kano.

The executive secretary said the mass vaccination campaign will be conveyed to marketplace, places of worship, Industries, Institute of higher learning with support of Civil Society Group and media to cover 80 percent of the population.

He stressed that health workers would be deployed across wards and local governments apart from those stationed at general hospitals across the state.
