Chief Of Army Staff Orders For Deployment Of soldiers To Kagara In Niger State

The Chief of Army Staff has ordered the deployment of soldiers to Kagara in Niger State to rescue students of Government Science School, abducted by bandits.

Director army public relations Brigadier-General Mohammed Yerima, made this known in a release says the soldiers working in conjunction with Sister security agencies are already on ground and in hot pursuit of the criminal elements and the students and their teachers are rescued unhurt.

The troops in a statement stated that the Nigerian Army in a renewed effort the force has mobilized its men to swift response to the incident in Government Science School, Kagara in Niger State.

The statement disclosed that the soldiers are in pursuit of the criminal elements in the general area.

In the report making rounds on traditional and on line media, it was reported that the bandits gained entry into the school in the early hours of today Wednesday 17 February 2021 and abducted unspecified number of members of staff and students of the School.

The Nigerian Army in line with its constitutional mandate wishes to reassure the general public that troops in operational synergy with Sister Security agencies are in hot pursuit of the criminal elements in order to ensure safe return of the kidnapped victims.

Nigerian Army also wishes to call on members of the general public to provide actionable information to security agencies that would lead to the arrest of these criminal elements.
