
Cameroon has arrested four soldiers suspected of killing two women and two children in the country’s far north where the army is fighting the terrorists group Boko Haram.
A video of the incident which has been shared thousands of times on twitter since it emerged last week has provoked international outcry. Government spokesman Issa Tchroma Bakary initially described the footage as fake news saying the men in the video wearing military uniforms did not appear to be Cameroonian soldiers but however promised to open investigations.
Four soldiers a government statement said have now been arrested suspected of being those in the video. It said three of them have been transported to Yaoundé the capital while the fourth was been held n Maroua.
