Cameroon security forces have captured four Boko Haram terrorists in Kijiyawa village situated on the road to Kouyape in the Kolofata council, Mayo-Sava division of the Far North region.
The four heavily armed terrorists were on Tuesday, May 18, captured after a ferocious fight with Cameroon soldiers.
They were members of a group that had razed down several houses in the locality and carted away personal properties and cattle.
This new attack in the Kolofata council area marks the resurgence of fighting in this locality after more than a month of relative calm.
In a related development, Boko Haram insurgents also raided Kerawa town in the same Kolofata council area at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2021, and killed a civilian whose name was given as Oumar Gwandje.
According to a local civil society organisation, Sembe, the terrorists also kidnapped one Blama Mahama Ngoudo and took him away along with several cattle.
Cameroonian security forces had also in the morning of Wednesday, May 16, killed four Boko Haram terrorists in Goldavi, a locality in the Mayo-Moskota division of the Far North region.
