Cameroon And Nigerian Army Kills 27 Boko Haram Terrorists in Borno Villages

The Nigeria Army, Troops of Sector 1 Operation LAFIA DOLE, in a joint clearance operation with Cameroon Defense Force, encountered Boko Haram terrorists at the Northern part of Wulgo, Tumbuma, Chikun Gudu and Bukar Maryam villages at fringes of lake in Borno state, North-East Nigeria.

A statement from Colonel Sagir Musa, Acting Director Army Public Relations said that 27 terrorists were killed during the operations,

He added that many sophisticated weapons were recovered from the fighters which includes, 5 Gun Trucks, 7 Motor Cycles, 5 AK 47 Rifles, 1 Automatic Revolver Galil Rifle, 1 G3 Rifle, 2 General Purpose Machine Gun, 2 Anti-Aircraft Guns, 4 Rocket Propelled Gun Tubes, 1 PK Machine Gun, 1 M21 Rifle.

Also items also recovered are 1 Locally Made Dane Gun, 5 Rocket Propelled Gun Tubes Bombs, 1000 Assorted rounds of different calibre ammunition, 5 AK 47 Magazines, Several Links of 12.7 MM, 1 Land Cruiser Buffalo, 1 Nissan GT, 1 Land Cruiser destroyed and 1 flag and a Grinding Machine. Stressing that There is no casualty on the part of the Nigerian and Cameroonian Forces.

Coordinated military operation is ongoing in the fringes of Gombaru – Ngala and surrounding areas to deal with the fleeing bandits running out from Multi National Joint Task Force’s OPERATION YANCIN TAFKI onslaught on their hideouts, he said.
