British Govt Says Credible Elections, Smooth Transition Remain Our Major Concern in Nigeria

The British government says credible, free and fair elections in Nigeria and smooth transition to a new political dispensation remains its major focus.

Paul Arkwright the British high commissioner in Nigeria also called for transparent conduct of Osun and Ekiti state elections as well as the 2019 general elections.

Speaking in Osogbo western Nigeria the high commissioner stated that his governance wants to entrench democracy in Nigeria but is not interested on who becomes what.

Ambassador Arkwright assured that his government is working to support INEC in this direction to ensure that politics is practiced in accordance with democratic tenets and principles.
