Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, inaugurated a committee on owner occupier on all government quarters within Maiduguri.
The inauguration which took place at the government house has Alh. Ibrahim Usman Ngulde, as the chairman while Alh. Mustapha Ali Kori will serve as the secretary and are directed to complete their assignments in two weeks.
While addressing the committee members, prof. Babagana Umara Zulum said it is the desire of the government to provide shelter to her citizens most especially the civil servants to own their houses so that they can retire comfortably.
He urged the committee members to be God fearing while discharging their responsibilities stressing that they should ascertain whether the houses are actually occupied by civil servants or not.
Government quarters that are to be given out on owner occupier basis now, includes, 202,303,505,777 and 1000 housing units.
Prof Babagana Umara Zulum also informed the gathering that government will continue manage and support the housing corporation through provision of road networks and other basic infrastructures in all the housing units.
In his vote of thanks on behalf of the committee members, the chairman of the committee, thanked the governor for finding them worthy of the job and assured him that they will not let him down.
