Borno NSCDC Calls For Media Support In Tackling Vandalizing National Assets

Borno state Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Musa Farouq has called for the support of media in tackling incessant vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure.

Farouq made the call during a visit to the leadership of Nigeria Union Journalists at NUJ Secretariat in Maiduguri.

Radio Nigeria report that the Commandant decried the level of vandalism of critical infrastructure which plunged most parts of the state into darkness for nearly ten months.

He explained that the Federal and Borno state government have invested huge resources in the provision of networks of roads, drainages, railway, power installations but are being vandalized by some unpatriotic people.

Farouq Musa added that as a Service with the core mandate of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, it is committed to providing surveillance to the facilities.

Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Borno State Council, Comrade Bulama Talba appreciated Civil Defence Corps for maintaining better working relationship with media in the state.

He gave assurance that Journalists will support the Command in its crusade against vandalism of critical infrastructure.
