
The Borno State Independent Electoral Commission, has assured all political parties that fielded candidates for the elections that the commission shall remain neutral and unbiased.
They also appealed to the electorates to come out en mass and vote for the candidates of their choice without fear, intimidation, or harassment, as law enforcement agents will be on ground to avoid breach of peace during the polls.
Addressing a press briefing at the headquarters of the BOSIEC in Maiduguri the chairman of the commission, Alhaji Abdu Usman said that Borno state Independent Electoral Commission has concluded all the necessary arrangements to ensure smooth, orderly, and hitch free conduct of the polls.

He added that Electoral personnel made up of Electrical Officers, Local Government returning Officers, presiding officers, have already been trained in readiness for the exercise.
The commission chairman said the election is going take place in all polling units of 23 local government areas, while that of Marte, Abadan, Guzamala, and 8 wards of Kukawa local government will have theirs elections in the Internally Displaced Persons camps.
The elections in 21 local government areas are unopposed, while that of Askira-uba, Chibok, MMC, Ngala, Kwaya Kusar, Mobbar and Jere were been challenged by opposition parties two professors were also fielded for the chairmanship elections in Damboa and Gwoza local government areas.
