Borno emirate concerned Citizens Forum has strongly condemned the brutal massacre of innocent Rice Famers in Koshebe Zabbarmari village of Jere local government area of Borno State by dreaded Boko Haram which left over 50 persons dead with several others still missing.
The chairman of the forum Zanna Bogoma of Borno disclosed this on Wednesday during am interactives session with news men at NUJ Maiduguri.
Bogoma stressed that despite the redoubled effort to resettle victims of terror attacks in their communities by governor of Borno Prof Babagana Umara Zulum, the rural communities in the state are facing untold hardship, adding that helping them to return to their farmlands and rebuild livelihoods are amongst the governor’s priorities and the only the way to avoid the looming food crisis in the state and the country at large.
The Forum also suggested a national prayer to end all sorts of violence against the State and innocent civilians, and urge President Buhari to summon an emergency meeting of serving and retired security experts, including traditional rulers to discuss the current state of the nation.
The Forum also solicit for the President to come down to Borno on a fact-finding mission and practically assess the situation on ground. Cause, in issues related to life and dead, sending high-powered delegation is not enough. Adding that it want absolute proactive measures and not reactions and condemnations.
The Forum believe that the Borno State Government under the able leadership of Babagana Umara Zulum is highly committed in terms of provision of all sorts of desired support to end the carnage.
