Borno Emirate Forum Calls On Garba Shehu To Apologise Over His Statement

A group under the umbrella of Borno Emirate Concerns Citizens Forum (BECCF) has called on the spokesman of President Muhammadu Buhari Mallam Garba Shehu to apologise to Nigerians and people of Zabarmari in particular over his misguided utterances on the bereaved farming community of Zabarmari that they went out to their farms without obtaining clearance from the military.

Speaking Dandal Kura Radio International in an exclusive interview the chairman of the group, Zannah Hassan Bogums said that the statement of the spokesman against the dead shows his indifferences, insensibility of the bereaved people of Borno.

They said saying they have to obtain clearance before harvesting their farm produce is unfortunate.

They added that it is wrong to blame the dead for government failure to protect the life of the citizens.

The group also called on President Buhari to come down to Maiduguri to convey a stakeholders meeting with the Military both retired and serving, traditional rulers, hunters, vigilantes, CJTF and others stakeholders to have a firsthand information on the true situation in the counter insurgency in the Northeast.

The group further condemned in strong terms the brutal attacked and killing of over 50 Innocent rice farmers in Koshebe village in Mafa local government and other rural communities in Jere local government area of Borno state by the dreaded Boko Haram members.
