Borno state capital and its environs have been thrown into lingering blackout which affects many businesses as a result of the destruction of towers supplying electricity from the national grid.
Speaking to our reporter Aisha Sale Abbdullahi the chairman of Ice Block Dealers Association Babagana Modu, says, the blackout had crippled many businesses. Adding that power outage brought huge challenges in ice blocks production.
Babagana Modu condemned activities of the insurgents.
Modu says blackout had affected his business as he continuously loses customers everyday due to the persistent increase in the prices by the day. Stressing that each bag of ice block is sold N7000 instead of N2000 prior the power outage.
He called on the relevant authorities to repair the electricity within a short time to avoid many of being jobless.
Dandal Kura Radio International reports that the blackout which has lasted for several weeks has grounded many businesses that are relying on power supply.
On his part the top official of Transmission Company of Nigeria in Maiduguri whose name proven not to be mentioned started that remarkable efforts have been made to restore electricity within a shortest possible time.
