The Arewa Consultative Forum, of the most prominent groups in northern Nigeria, sent delegation to Maiduguri, which met Borno Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum Yesterday.
The delegation was led by the forum’s chairman, Chief Audu Ogbeh, who has held cabinet, and party leadership positions at the highest levels in the country.
The Arewa Consultative Forum was in Borno to empathize over boko haram’s serial killings, particularly the most recent, which was the beheading of over 40 farmers of Zabarmari community in Jere local government area.
Ogbeh told Zulum that the security situation in northern Nigeria, is depressing, noting that elites in the region now have nothing to leave behind as legacies for the future generation.
That is why the ACF decide to focus on some developmental efforts in small scale agro-industries across the entire region.
The forum condemned the attack on innocent farmers describing it as barbaric and inhumane.
The ACF commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his style of leadership in Borno.
Governor Zulum expressed appreciation for the commiseration and urged the federal government to find lasting solutions to the crisis in the northeast.
