Adamawa state government had flagged off mass vaccination of animals against Trans-Boundary Animal disease (TADs) targeting 1.5million Cows across the state.
In his message on the occasion held at the International cattle market Girei, the administrative headquarters of the local government, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri said 1.5 million doses of vaccines have been for the exercise.
Represented by his Deputy Chief Crowther Seth, the governor applauded the peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders and noted that both parties are great contributors to the economic growth of Adamawa and Nigeria in general.
He said the vaccination campaign demonstrated the importance government attached to herders and livestock business and explained that sustainable peace and unity amongst the citizens form part of government priorities.
Usman Yahya Diyajo, Commissioner for Livestock and Aquaculture Development said the vaccination exercise is aimed at ensuring that animals in the state are healthy and it will cover the entire state.
