Adamawa State Executive Council Approves Over N500 Million For Renovation And Construction Of Healthcare Facilities

Adamawa State Executive Council on Wednesday approved over N500 million for the renovation and construction of some healthcare facilities in the state.

Dr. Umar Pella, Commissioner of Information and Strategy, disclosed the development to newsmen shortly after the state council meeting held in Yola.

The meeting, presided over by Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, disclosed that the healthcare facilities were in Numan, Ganye and Song local government areas.

Pella revealed that the Council had equally approved the construction of laboratory block, paediatric ward, female surgical ward and mortuary in Numan General Hospital at the cost of over N200 million.

The Works in Ganye General Hospital will include construction of Out Patient Department OPD, renovation of admin block and construction of laboratory block at the cost of N127 million.

In Girei cottage hospital, construction of male surgical ward, laboratory block and female surgical ward at the total cost of over one hundred and forty seven million naira.

The commissioner said that the contracts awarded was in line with the state government’s policy towards reforming the health sector and development would go round all hospitals across the state.

He further explained that government had recently flagged off constructions of cottage hospitals in Lamurde, Shelleng, Song and Gombi local government areas.
