Adamawa State Assembly Passes Bill That Prohibits All Forms Of Violence

Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed into law a bill for a law to eliminate violence against persons in private and public life.

The bill prohibits all forms of violence and to provide maximum protection and effective remedies for victims and punishment of offenders.

The majority leader of the House, Hammantukur Yettisuri of Jada Mbulo constituency presented the bill for the third reading on the floor of the House as required by law during Monday’s plenary session.

The Speaker of the House Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the session put the motion into voice vote and unanimously supported by the lawmakers present during the sitting.

He therefore, directed the clerk of the house to prepare a clean copy of the bill for the Governor’s assent.
