NSCDC Seek Partnership Of Borno State Govt To Protect Farmers

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has seek for the partnership of Borno state government to effectively protect farmers through the Agro Rangers to avoid the repeat of Zabarmari farmer’s killings.

It could be recalled that members of Zabarmari farming community were on 28th November, 2020 attacked by Boko Haram insurgency in their farms resulting to the killings of over 40 farmers in Koshefe village in Borno state.

The commandant General of the NSCDC Alhaji Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu made this known yesterday, when he paid a condolence visit to Governor Babagana Zulum at the Government House Maiduguri.

He also to we condole the government and people of Borno, solicit for the cooperation and assistance of the Executive Governor of on proposed 2 days capacity building workshop they are planning for the officers and men of the NSCDC in the 6 states of the Northeast to be hold in Maiduguri.

The commandant General represented by the Assistant Commander General, Training and Manpower Development, Alhaji Zakari Ibrahim Ningi who said that the primary responsibility of any government is to ensure the security and the well being of it’s citizenry, because there cannot be any meaningful development if it’s citizenry are traumatized by security challenges.

The Commandant General said also said that the training is parts of the strategy they are trying to review and see where they have done better and where they need to restrategize.

He added that the essence of this proposed workshop will assist the Agro Rangers in protecting farmers.

Governor Babagana Zulum assured the NSCDC that the state government is ready to partner with the organization in the protection of farmers more especially as IDPs returns to their respectively communities.
