The Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum has felicitated with Christians in the state and other parts of the country at Easter.
In a statement by his spokesman, Malam Isa Gusau on Saturday, called Nigerians and the international community not to lose focus on the fight against Boko Haram insurgency amidst ravaging COVID-19.
The Governor enjoined Christians to imbibe selfless sacrifices and renew their hopes and convictions in the spirit of the season.
The statement added that Governor Zulum shared the pain that Easter is being celebrated at a time Nigeria like many parts of the world is battling to contain a pandemic caused by coronavirus.
However, amidst the fight against COVID-19, there is the risk of stakeholders in Nigeria and the international community losing focus on the fight against Boko Haram which is to Nigerians, a ‘COVID-2009-coronavirus.’
According to the statement, the Borno state government will not relent in fighting the epidemic through the adoption of strict preventive and responsive measures
