Borno State Government has on Thursday directed the immediate fumigation of all Banking halls, strong rooms and ATM Machines as part of its precautionary measures against the dreaded Corona Virus Pandemic.
Borno State is the worst hit by the decade-long Boko Haram insurgency with huge number of IDPs but has no corona virus case yet.
However, the state government is not ready to take chances as it’s taking precautionary measures to safeguard the lives of its people.
In a Press statement signed and issued from the office of the Deputy Governor, Umar Usman Kadafur who is also the Chairman of the Response Team for the Prevention of Corona Virus in the state stated that the fumigation will include other facilities within bank premises.
The Borno State Environmental Protection Agency BOSEPA has been mandated to fumigate banking halls and it’s environs twice a week while all Banks are requested to cooperate with officials of BOSEPA to ensure a smooth exercise.
The statement also conveyed that the banks are further directed to provide hand washing points at entrance gates and all ATM points as part of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
